Hans Anders is part of the optics group nexeye, a successful and ambitious omnichannel retail platform that currently consists of three value-for-money optics brands.
nexeye introduces Circle —a circular eyewear collection with frames made from old glasses and residual waste left over from the production of new frames. The collection is part of nexeye's ambition to make the operation more sustainable. Circle's eyewear collection is modern, daring, luxurious and features sophisticated details. Designed for anyone who dares to make a statement with glasses. And at the same time, the perfect choice for environmentally conscious consumers. The complete Circle collection, consisting of 23 unisex frames, is now available in stores of Hans Anders, Direct Optics and eyes + more.
The frames are made of Regrind acetate. Regrind acetate is composed of recycled, unsold and used eyeglass frames. Supplemented with unused residual material from new acetate plates, it is completely ground and processed into new acetate.
In addition to the quality and affordability of nexeye's products, making the production process more sustainable also plays a major role and nexeye would like to contribute to keeping the world and society livable.
When visiting factories, nexeye's category managers see a growing involvement of suppliers in the production process, which they also want to make it cleaner and more sustainable. They stay in touch with them and look for more sustainable solutions together. Residual waste that is released during the production of frames is high-quality material that can be easily reused so that it is unnecessary to constantly use new raw materials. With the premise that glasses made from recycled materials are even more beautiful, nexeye has talked to a supplier that uses residual waste and old frames to produce new plastic frames. And so the Circle brand and the collection of 23 frames developed.
